New York just got swept in a four-game series by their archrival, Boston on the road. Basically, their lineup fell flat, accounting for a combined nine runs scored in those four games. This is an offense that ranks in the top-five and just about every major category. Yes, Aaron Judge is still sidelined for a while. But even without him, they were still scoring runs. Their top producers fell flat, as I mentioned a moment ago. I feel they need to break out here at home where there are 22-15 this season. Throw into the mix they are motivated due to the fact they dropped out of first place and now sit 1.0-games behind Tampa Bay, and I feel they will turn things around tonight. With all respect, the Detroit Tigers are struggling. They sit in fourth place in a week division at 35-49, which does include one of the worst road records in all of baseball, going 12-28 as a visitor this season. As a matter of fact, that is the worst road record in baseball. Unlike their opponent, the Tigers rank in the bottom third in just about every major offensive category. The only bright spot for this team is their pitching staff which ranks in the top-10. Scheduled today are Mize and Weathers. The Detroit right-hander it’s 2-5 with a 2.95 ERA. But he is winless over his last six starts, going 0-4 with a 3.38 ERA. And five career starts against New York, he is just 2-2 as his ERA rises up to 4.18. The Yankees left-hander is 3-5 with a 3.95 ERA in 2026. His last two outings in which he is 1-0, he has allowed a combined two earned runs in 12.1 innings pitched. He has done well against today’s opponent, going 1-0 with an anemic ERA of 0.64 in two meetings against them. I feel the Yankees have to turn things around here, and they will at home in front of their loyal fan base. Take New York. Thank you.

Guess what team has the best baseball June record? Go to the head of the line if you said the Marlins. Miami is 18-6 this month.

Look for the Marlins to add another victory to their sterling June as they play the Rockies, the team with the worst record in the majors at 33-51.

Colorado's major problem is a pitching staff that ranks last in ERA, WHIP and has the fewest quality starts. The Rockies also have the highest bullpen ERA in the National League at 5.03.

The Rockies do play better at home, but they are coming from Minnesota where they lost, 3-2, to the Twins on Sunday. So they get no rest advantage.

The starting pitching matchup is Sandy Alcantara vs. Rockies rookie Sean Sullivan. The Marlins are 5-0 in Alcantara’s last 5 starts. Alcantara has a 2.57 ERA in his last three starts. He is backed by a Miami bullpen that has the fifth lowest ERA at 3.34.

Sullivan has just 12 MLB innings in three big league starts. They have been very forgettable innings as he has an 8.25 ERA and 1.92 WHIP.

I make the Marlins a much higher favorite so I will back them at this price.

The Reds have shown promise the plate lately, entering Monday's action ranked in the top half of the majors in xwOBA over the last week and sixth in wOBA against left-handed pitching this season. They'll take on an up-and-down lefty in Robert Gasser on Monday. Gasser owns a FIP north of five this season, similar to his counterpart on Monday, Nick Lodolo. Neither starter instills a lot of confidence but we're catching a very generous price with the underdog Reds given the fact the Brewers are on a bit of a down-turn right now. While Milwaukee's bullpen has been among the best in baseball at times this season, that certainly hasn't been the case lately. The Brewers 'pen has logged a 5.87 ERA and 1.61 WHIP over the last week. Not only that but four of the seven relievers at Milwaukee's disposal have thrown 30+ pitches and appeared at least twice over the last three days. Take Cincinnati (8*).
