Betting The Preseason can be profitable and fun.

The NFL is finally back and football fans have a lot to be excited about this season. Its preseason time. Do you bet it or lay off and wait for the real deal? Why not have some fun? This is what you have waited for all year and its finally here. Now don’t get crazy! Nobody is telling you to bet the farm on practice games. That’s what it is; practice. Teams are finding themselves. Players are finding themselves and trying to be the starter or (for rookies) trying to make the team.

A balanced approach to the preseason:

Don’t ever forget; its preseason. Preseason is practice, guys are having fun, doing a lot of screwing around and it is what it is. The veteran players will see limited action. The next couple of weeks however, should actually hold some value for the gambler. Take a look at week one. Even in week one there were a couple of teams that came to play. Seahawks/Chargers, Lions/Colts are a couple of great examples. Early on, Seattle looks good, very good. The Colts, well, let’s just say; its early!

Not one NFL football team wants to be embarrassed. These guys have giant egos and they want to win. The Colts are a work in progress and as the season continues it will definitely be interesting to watch how they perform. The Chargers; same deal. Phillip Rivers is still a top 5 quarterback in the league. The guy wants to win and he had his “nose shoved in it” against the Seahawks.

How much should you spend on the preseason?

Do not bet what you can afford! That’s right, stay well below what you can actually afford on the preseason. Set a budget, have a gambling budget going into this season. Know what you can afford to spend for the entire 2017 NFL season.

When setting a budget for the regular season you should include the preseason as well. Never spend more than 10% of your entire budget, on the preseason. You know what you can afford as a budget; now you can actually afford to lose 10% of that budget on the preseason. Let’s stay optimistic here, let’s hope and pray to the football gods that you tear it up in preseason and pad that entire budget for the regular season. If not, if things simply don’t go your way; not all is lost. You still have 90% of your budget left for 2017. How can you go wrong? Think of preseason as practice for you.

Choose a sportsbook wisely. Not all Bookies are created equal. Find some good advice. Don’t be too proud to actually spend a couple of coins for a professional pick. They know what they are doing, they live, eat and breath football. Let’s face it; as a player, anything over a 55% winning margin is good. If you are going 75% and up, you should be the one getting paid! This is exactly what they do. They hit 75% of their pics and on up. They are that good. Why spend your hard earned money on a “gut feeling”? A “gut feeling” is the quickest way to lose.

Most of all have fun. This is what you have waited for all year long. The Super Bowl was a long time ago. The NFL is back; the time is now. Jump in the fray, live a little. Enjoy the season and win some cash.
