Red Sox Offense is Hot

Boston’s 45 runs in their series with the Mariners was something to behold. It could be a different story vs the Cleveland Indians starters.

With Steven Wright going on the seven-day concussion DL after being struck with a batting practice fly ball earlier in the week, the Boston Red Sox announced that right-hander Matt Barnes will take Wright’s turn in the rotation on Monday.

Barnes, who has made 21 appearances out the bullpen this season over two stints with the club, has been stretched out to start since being optioned to Triple-A Pawtucket in July.

The Indians are 1-2 on this 11-game trip. They pull into Boston with a 10-10 record against the AL East. The Red Sox took two out of three from Seattle over the weekend to start a 10-game homestand. They are 9-11 against the AL Central and are being managed by bench coach Torey Lovullo after John Farrell took a medical leave after being diagnosed with cancer.

Cleveland is a -143 fave with a total of 9.0 ov -115 at your sportsbook.
